Kneel before Zod
Just a speed paint while waiting around.
superman is one my least favorite of all the superheros, but the design choices for the man of steel film just look so neat. the aggressive bone like armour for zod reminds me of tsutomu nihei’s work.

sleepy hollow

A Sleepy Hollow speed paint.
I’m currently waiting on a client from Hong Kong, and the work is all pretty neat and cute so I decided to paint something spooky while I can.
The Headless Horseman Is one of the more striking characters of American fiction. there are loads of European legends of a ghostly or demonic hunt. even ones where the rider is headless. but there’s something just so arresting about the lone headless man about to run you down.

You can blame my friend Catherine for all these ship based paintings. I think the top one turned out better as i'm trying to do more painting with hard surface objects. but i still got to ad some of my favorite things such as fire and mountains.

Dungeon monsters

So me and a friend wrote and are D.M'ing a comedy dungeon. now it may be a comedy but its a dark comedy. so lots of discussing and nasty creatures within. some are creatures you can find in the bestiery but I wanted to do my own spin on them.  I will update more designs after the guys have encountered them.

ah man long time no posty. Its also nice to get back into a nice long painting after so long animating puppets and such. anyhoo this is for a pitch for a animation job i desperately want to get.
I often have trouble doing the mental mathematics required for drawing non natural structurs such as cars and especialy buildings. whereas landscapes, plants and figures (even clothed or armoured ones) flow, one shape eases into the other, man made objects seem to ridgedly stand in order often contradicting eachother. and if you mes up only a little you mess up the whole thing.
so just starting out with some creepy lop sided pre renascence buildings during the black death to help ease me in.

the worst of times

here's a teaser trailer for the comic I've been working on when not animating. I'm hoping to get it ready to sell at my friend's stall at mcm. late victorian vampire slaying is in my opinion vastly under represented out there. you may recognise the main character from one of my erliest posts.

the Judge

this is the judge or judge holden from Cormac Mcarthy's blood meridian. a difficult but beautiful book in all its awe of nature and the easy violence dispensed in America. 
the character the judge is a villain of most astounding excellence and a character i'm still vaguely obsessing over. he fits easily into the slot of being Mephistopheles, but sometimes i still think he is the earthly embodiment of the American god. a cultured, educated, charming, passionate and evil man.
